Keysight Technologies has introduced the next-generation Infiniium XR8 real-time oscilloscopes, engineered for high-speed digital and compliance testing in modern electronics development. The new platform combines redesigned hardware and the Infiniium 2026 software environment to address increasing bandwidth, jitter and signal integrity demands driven by evolving standards such as USB, DisplayPort and DDR.

New Hardware Architecture for Signal Fidelity
The XR8 integrates newly developed front-end ASIC technology with an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital signal processing (DSP) engine. This architecture is designed to preserve signal integrity and improve timing accuracy in high-speed serial, memory and mixed-signal applications.

The system achieves intrinsic jitter performance as low as 13 femtoseconds (fs) rms and noise below 130 µV at 8 GHz bandwidth. These specifications support high-fidelity measurement and margin validation for interfaces including USB4v2, DisplayPort 2.1 and DDR5, where small signal impairments can significantly affect compliance and system reliability.

Enhanced jitter decomposition, PAM analysis and advanced equalization capabilities provide deeper insight into channel performance and enable precise characterization of high-speed links.

Accelerated Compliance and Validation Cycles
The integrated ADC and DSP engine, combined with the Infiniium 2026 software platform, accelerates acquisition, analysis and reporting by up to three times compared to previous generations. This improvement supports condensed validation timelines in environments where engineering teams must manage higher data rates and tighter compliance margins.

Optimized multithread processing and memory management allow efficient handling of large waveform datasets. Automated measurement workflows and reporting tools reduce debugging cycles and improve overall test throughput.

Infiniium 2026 Software Platform
The XR8 is powered by the Infiniium 2026 software environment, which introduces faster response times, improved stability and a modernized user interface. Features include flexible waveform windows, enhanced visualization tools and drag-and-drop functionality.

An integrated SCPI recorder simplifies automation script development, while streamlined workflows support both exploratory debugging and standards-based compliance testing.

Compact Mechanical and Thermal Design
A redesigned mechanical architecture reduces overall power consumption, improves thermal efficiency and lowers acoustic noise. The compact footprint enables deployment in space-constrained laboratories and dense validation setups.
